Use a seating chart

Buyers pick a place on a map of your venue. A seat block is numbered seats. A shape is a standing area with a capacity.

Your organisation needs seating turned on. When you create the event, under How are tickets sold?, choose Seating chart. That choice stays fixed after the event exists. General admission only sells a quantity and does not show a map.

Create one ticket type for each price, such as VIP and Standing. The price lives on the ticket type. Once you assign the type on the chart, the chart sets how many can be sold.

Open Seating Chart in the event menu.

From Items, drag a Seat block onto the canvas. Select the block. Set Rows, Seats per row, Color, and Ticket type. A section name is optional and groups those seats, for example Balcony.

For standing room, open Shape and place a square, rectangle, triangle, or circle. Assign a ticket type and set Capacity.

Give a ticket type either seats or a standing area. The same type cannot have both.

The chart saves as you edit. Saved appears on the canvas when the latest change is stored.

Advanced sets how rows and seats are labelled: letters or numbers, the starting label, and whether they count up or down. Set this before a seat is held or sold. After that, those labels stay as they are. You can still add another seat block, add seats to a block that counts upward, and move or recolor the chart.

The shop sells from the map only after you publish. Under Inventory, choose Publish seating chart.

The shop then opens on the map. Choosing a seat adds that ticket type to the cart. Choosing a standing shape asks for a quantity, up to that shape’s capacity. A ticket type that is not on the chart stays out of the shop.

After you add, remove, or resize places, choose Publish changes. Seats already held or sold stay taken.

Copy chart reuses a map from another event in your organisation. Ticket types are not copied. Assign them on this event, then publish.
